Ottomans Passing Baton to Turans

Turks have never been stateless since 209 BC. They dissolved their 16th in 1922. The proclamation of the 17th is impending. The United States of Turan will bring 400 million Turks together. The “Ottomans passing baton to Turans” is a worrisome proposal. Yet, it is also a reality soon to be officially announced. No matter what, 400 million Turks will be united. Initially seven countries will have economic and military union under one flag.

TURKS ARE COMING

According to Merriam-Webster, Turks are the natives or inhabitants of the Republic of Türkiye. They are also a member of numerous peoples, speaking Turkic languages. They mainly live in a region extending from the Balkans to eastern Siberia and western China. The Republic of Türkiye inherited the Ottoman Empire in 1923. In 1991, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan became independent. Earlier in 1985, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus proclaimed statehood.

Currently, five of the “Magnificent Seven” are members of the Organization of the Turkish States. Three others, including Hungary, have Observer status. The exact date of the official announcement for the United States of Turan is yet to be announced.

17th Turkish State in History: United States of Turan (UST)

The proclamation of the 17th Turkish state in history is inevitable. For all concerned, the 17th state will not be announced until the military union is completed. Sealing the borders of the “Union” will start with Gök kubbe, recently announced Steel Dome. Five full member states are at work, some since 1990s. They began the path with the reinstitution of the Turkish alphabet, calling their union the Turkish Council in 2009. In a decade, they became the Organization of Turkish States, on their way to the UST.

16th Turkish State in History: Ottoman Empire

The 16th Turkish state was the Ottoman Empire. It lasted six centuries. It controlled the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, and southern portions of Ukraine and Russia. The Mediterranean Sea turned into a Turkish lake for a long time. At the height of their power in 1453, the Ottomans conquered Constantinople and named it Istanbul. They took control of the gates of Europe and came as far as knocking the door in Vienna two centuries later.

Proclamation of the Biggest Turkish State Ever

Today there are 193 member states at the United Nations. 54 of them made up the Ottoman Empire as the world knew it. That translates into a quarter of the world. Turan State will do better. It will have influence over one third of the world.

United States of Turan

The United States of Turan (UST) will most likely begin its journey with five states. The membership will reach double digits quickly. From Qatar to Pakistan to Hungary to Albania are expected to join the pack. However, they will not be all. The UST will initially include in spirit nearly 400 million Turks. One third of them currently live as members of other states in Eurasia. The UST will also appeal to more than a billion Muslim from India, China, Africa, and the Middle East.

Pan-Turanian Milestones

The transition from Ottomans to Turans took a century. It began with the Pan-Turanian Movement during WWI. In 2002, the idea gained a foothold again with the Erdogan regime coming to power.

Pan-Turanian Movement

Enver, Talat, and Cemal pashas of the Ottoman Empire are behind the Pan-Turanian Movement of the 20th century. WWI prevented their effort. Ataturk, another Ottoman pasha, focused on saving the remnants of the Ottoman Empire instead. He proclaimed the Republic of Türkiye in 1923 after the Empire was dissolved in 1922.

Erdogan Regime

The Erdogan regime came to power in Türkiye in 2002. In 2020, Türkiye, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, joined forces with Azerbaijan. The liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenian occupiers marked a milestone. The military cooperation of two Pan-Turanic states set the stage for the union of the rest.

Passing Baton to Turans

Good For the World

According to the legend, Turan encompasses a region roughly corresponding to what is called Central Asia today. It includes Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, northern Afghanistan and Pakistan. The goal of establishing a greater Turan state has been an aspiration for some Turkish nationalist movements over the past century. Certainly, China, India, Russia, the Western powers, Arabs, and Iranians would be dreading the thought.

In truth, the proclamation of the United States of Turan should be no different than the creation of the European Union. Yet, some others would also suggest that it will be more like the United States of America. The question is what is wrong with either one of them? Sarcasm aside, that is exactly what everyone is worried about. Considering how the EU and the US have turned into something no one in the East wants anything to do with, who needs the UST?

Turks Are Coming

Turks already declared that the 21st century will be theirs to enjoy. They are motivated and emboldened like never before in their history. Plus, they are adamant to go to their roots and become one for the first time in history, once and for all. They have the energy resources but also demographics in their favor, as well as strategic geography. Add to that the recent technological advances and levels of cooperation between them over the past 30 years. The rest is good-will and belief.

Muslims Are Becoming Three Billion

The other motivational factor for Turks is how the world will soon change for good. Within a decade or two, Muslims will make up 35 percent of the world population. They were 19 percent when the Christianity dominated the world with 33 percent. Christianity at 34 percent will now have to deal with Muslim hoards rushing to the Old Continent. They will come from Africa and Asia with the rest of the third world. Turks will be instrumental spiritual leaders to stabilize the world with their UST.

Ottomans Passing Baton to Turans

Wishful Thinking?

Is Ottomans passing the baton to Turans a wishful thinking? The question is if it is who is wishful for? To my mind, it must be for Westerners. However, it is also for the world at large. A benevolent UST is good for Planet Earth.
